Forget about P800's standard theme! Your old smartphone deserves a better life, and now you can give him thousands of P900 themes! With Magic Themes you will make it more attractive and inimitable in its beauty!

With Magic Themes, your old Sony Ericsson P800 will look like a new P900, because now you can use P900 themes (UTZ files) right on the device! It sounds unbelievable, but it is true.

Magic Themes is a useful utility that allows you to change almost everything on your smartphone. This includes about 60 screen elements' look, and background images for almost every interface element. You can paint windows, menus, control elements, dialogs, buttons, scrollbars and labels. Use your own pictures to give dialogs, menus, buttons, backgrounds a new, vivid look. Import thousands of UTZ files (P900 themes) available today. Our advanced interface lets you make every action in a very simple way. Not only for pleasure, you can create and use special themes for different daylight conditions (i.e. more contrast or bright). With Magic Themes, changing the system bitmaps becomes a piece of cake.

Note that Magic Themes works on Sony Ericsson P800 only. Do not install it on Motorola devices!

In most cases, you will want to import a ready P900 theme and use it on your P800 smartphone. How to do this? What should you know? Here are the steps.

1. Download any P900 theme from the Internet. This is a file with .utz extension. Of course, you may download as many themes as you wish. There are lots of sites with themes collections.
2. Copy it (them) to your device. Note: when uploading (importing) UTZ themes, be sure to store them in the Mail folders or in “C:\Documents\Media files\document” or “D:\Media files\document” folders!
3. Run Magic Themes, go to Tools > Import menu or tap button.
4. Magic Themes will scan folders and show a list of UTZ files found.
5. Check the necessary themes and tap Done. You may use Import all button to import all found themes as well.
6. Now, in the themes' list, select the necessary theme and tap button. That's all!

This part is for experienced users who want to edit themes on device, change colors and images, and create new themes.

Working with Magic Themes is easy and intuitively. Our advanced theme editor will satisfy every fastidious user.

Magic Themes' main screen shows a list of available themes. Here you can create a new theme, edit an existing one or set a selected scheme. Let's learn how to edit system colors with Magic Themes. So, select any scheme to edit (or view).

You'll see a screen presenting the theme that has all OS interface elements shown. You can either tap a desired element or select it from the list. In both cases, you'll see the affected elements' blinking.

Now just pick any color from the palette. You may also use jog dial to scroll the palette. If you prefer to enter RGB values, just do it in an ordinary way. You'll see how the selected color paints the rectangle below. That's how you can “transfer”, for example, your Windows' desktop scheme.

Magic Themes allows you to use (and easily change) bitmaps for: System Bar, ApPicker Bar, Appicker Hoop, Menu Bar background, Menu Title Highlight, Menu Item Highlight, Menu Item Highlight Selected, Menu Pane Background, Menu Pane Separator, Menu Pane Adornments, Un-pressed Dialog Title, Pressed Dialog Title, Listboxes Highlight, Option and Checkbox buttons, FC Balls, FC Background, FC Title Bar backrgound, ScreenSaver, AppList wallpaper (only for the List mode!). (This is not a necessary, however). You should create corresponding pictures in any graphics format (bmp, jpeg, gif, png, mbm).

You can use your desktop PC and any Themes Editor, for example, Sony Ericsson Themes Creator or VITO ThemeEditor for P900. However this is not necessary as you can create and edit themes directly on your device with Magic Themes. We also recommend you to read Sony Ericsson Themes developers guide to learn about themes.

To change/delete/add an image, just tap a corresponding picture and you'll see a pop-up menu (Replace/Delete). Below you can see some examples of all the pictures supported by Magic Themes (the screenshots were taken with My Sony theme):

Note: P900 doesn't support these elements, so you can get our default picture file and use it. This file contains 4 pages: check box elements, check box mask, option elements, option mask.

Any image for Applist wallpaper, 208x254 pixels. Note it will work only in "View as list" mode.
Screen saver:
Any image for screen saver, up to 208x320 pixels. You can also use animated GIFs, in that case the screen saver will be animated.

You can work with any graphics editor and use any pictures that you like.

When everything is ready, upload these pictures to your device. Open Magic Themes, select a scheme to edit. Now tap More button. You'll see image selectors for all supported pictures. Select all the necessary pictures.

Finally, tap Set button. Your theme is applied!

Note: when uploading (importing) themes, be sure to store them in the Mail folders or in “C:\Documents\Media files\document” or “D:\Media files\document” folders!

Attention: unregistered version works with background images within 21 days only. After expiration, you'll not be able to use images.

Magic Themes almost fully supports P900 themes stored in UTZ files. However there exist some incomplete UTZ files with some missing elements. We cannot guarantee that Magic Themes will support all existing UTZ files.

Disk space. Magic Themes uses it own compressed format for storing the themes. So they won't waste too much space.

RAM space. You should know that more graphics requires more RAM. Animated screensavers eat more RAM than the static ones.

With Magic Themes, you can make a perfect gift for your friends, family members or beloved. For example, make a romantic color scheme in rose tones, name it “My sweet rose” then send it! This will be a wonderful surprise for a person who will always remember you while working with the smartphone.

Of course, every color scheme can be edited, saved, copied and sent via IR/BT/Email/MMS. That's the way you can share your art with people.

At last but not at least, Magic Themes is the easiest way to single out your phone of a mass of ordinary devices.

Here is the explanation of Magic Themes' menus.

• Send as - send a selected theme to another device as MMS/Email or via BT/IR

• Copy - copy a theme to another location, so you can safely edit a copy
• Move - move a theme to another location
• Delete - delete a theme (to free some space)
• Import - import and add a new theme to Magic Themes. Use this option when importing an UTZ file (P900 theme) or after receiving a new theme through Email/MMS/IR/BT. Magic Themes also support its own format importing
• Set default - return to the default smartphone theme
• Preferences - default preferences (for copyright and screensaver)

Note: if you want to create a standard-based theme, use Tools > Set default, then Theme > New > Based on current commands.

You can get additional themes from our Magic Themes Gallery. Also we highly recommend you to use Google to search for P900 themes.

Version 2.1 fully supports P800 (color settings and bitmap handling).

Please do not try to install Magic Themes on other clone devices (such as Motorola A920/A925)! It will crash your device. However, we always recommend installing the program on D: drive (Memory Stick card). In case you have any problems, remove Memory Stick card, boot up your phone, wait 2 minutes (this is important!), then insert the card, and then uninstall Magic Themes.

To uninstall Magic Themes:
1. Go to Tools > Set default menu to return to your default scheme (however you may skip this step if you like to leave current color settings).
2. Uninstall the program as usual.
3. Turn off the phone, then turn it on again. This will remove the resident part of Magic Themes from RAM.

Q: Where is AppList wallpaper?
A: It works only in "View as list" mode and doesn't work in "View as icons" mode. We cannot do more than we have done.
Q: Magic Themes isn't working on my device!
A: We are sorry, but we cannot guarantee 100% work on any device. It may depend on a ROM version, software installed, and so on. Magic Themes is a very complex system program; and UIQ v2.0 does not have a native themes support.
Q: I installed v2.x over the v1.1 and now I have error when starting the program.
A: Reboot your device (turn off/on the phone).
Q: Will you make Motorola A920 / A925 support?
A: Sorry, no. We don't have this device for development. And Motorola is incompatible with Magic Themes.
